San Diego: Part 2

I started these San Diego posts back in October from our September trip down there. Guess I forgot to post them. Whoops!

It was fleet week in San Diego and my Grandpa Bolt is a retired Navy Captain. He loved showing Keller around the boats. They rang the bells for my Grandpa when he boarded the ship (I guess that is some type of tradition). Keller absolutely loved it!

San Diego: Part 1

In September we took a trip down to San Diego. I took the kids with my mom while Zach started his first week of work. It was a wonderful chance for Keller and Owen to meet their Great-Grandparents. My grandma loved playing with them so much. Seeing the boys with her reminded me of the time I would spend with them in San Diego as a little girl.

Boys day out - My dad, Uncle Clay, and Grandpa took Keller to Balboa park one morning.

I used to go there with my Grandpa Lee all the time. I LOVED the Merry-go-round and would ride it for hours trying to catch the gold ring (which would win me yet another ride).

Mommy: reflecting on what he just said "well, yeah, actually. Papa is in charge of me."

A moment of calmness has hit while the boys are napping and I finally have a minute to give an update to all of our eager friends. I have been meaning to for a while now so here it goes (let's see how far I get before someone wakes up). The boys and I are in San Diego right now visiting my family while Zach is preparing for his second week at his new job.

Quick recap...
June - busy packing for our upcoming move

July - This summer we had the boys in swimming lessons in Provo before we left. Keller loved it. Owen didn't care much either way.

End of July - And then came the big move...

Probably one of the most challenging things that I have ever experienced. Packing up a 3 bedroom townhouse with a 2 yr old and a 6 month old. I'm surprised that my kids are still alive!!!
Here is our last day in Provo. Keller did really well watching movies on daddy's phone.

Keller was loving the moving truck... He kept calling it daddy's truck.

The neighbor kids were sad to see Keller go.

Goodbye Provo. We had some good times and will miss all of our friends.

August - Then off to Boise for the month. Keller ran wild and Owen gained 4lbs. During the month Zach and I took a trip down to San Francisco for a home finding trip. The boys had such a fun month playing with grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles, and old friends. I LOVED all the help!!!

We spent many nights on the back patio by the river. This was a big change from having a liquor store in our back yard in Provo.

September - After a long month we finally made it to the bay area.
My parents came with us for the big move and it was wonderful to have their help. We found a great place in Belmont, which is about 20 miles south of San Francisco on the peninsula. We love it here!

BIG 25!!!! I don't feel like I have hit a quarter-century yet, but it is true. I am posting this from my new birthday present. Zach got me an iPad2 this year for my birthday. We have had it for a week or two now and I love it!!!! I do however have to share with Keller. He is such a tech junkie! He knows how to work it better than I do. He plays games, watches movies on Netflix, reads books (or at least looks at the pictures), and checks NASDAQ. :)
I woke up this morning with a new "blogpress app" on my iPad. Hopefully this will make it a bit easier to blog on-time! Here are a few pics from the unveiling of the ipad2.

As you can see, Keller was way more excited than me. He was screaming "iPad".

I haven't really posted many pictures of Owen... we have like a million, but I had Zach go back and pick a few of his favorites out! I guess this is what I get for asking him to do it...

Poor thing.... he has figured it out now and he knows that both eyes are supposed to look forward!

As you can see from those first 3 pictures, Owen was really jaundiced. Keller was when he was born, but not as bad as Owen. He had to be on the bili-lights for 36hours at home, which really wasn't that long compared to some stories that I have heard from friends. It was like a cute little portable tanning bed and he loved sprawling out in it.

The only bad part was that it lit up the whole room, so we slept in daylight!

He pulled through and I'm glad we got pictures to remember that time. I even dated and kept those cute little goggles! Haha!

Oh yeah, I guess I forgot to post about Keller's 2nd Birthday (on March 19th)... I'm a bad mom (or maybe just a really busy one)!

As you can see from the potty post, we shaved all of Keller's hair off on his 2nd birthday. It was his first haircut ever so it was about time!

As I said in the previous post...Keller is potty training and doing a really good job. I hesitate to say "potty trained" because I know I will jinx it!!

He gets chocolate after he poops in the toilet. We had to change it to only poops because he pees like 15 times a day and always had a sugar buzz going!

Keller's been eating a lot of these this past month!!! He has been potty training... and he loves peanut butter cups. This all came about in mid-April when my mom was visiting us for a few weeks. I left to go to work for a few hours and my mom watched the boys. I forgot to remind her to change Keller's diaper while I was gone and I guess when you get to "grandparent age" you just don't think about changing diapers. Well, I got home and Keller was in his booster chair eating a snack. I picked him up to hug him and his pants were dripping with urine!! I took his pants and diaper off and he loved running around naked so much that I didn't have the heart to put a diaper back on him. About 10 minutes later he said "mommy Keller's peeing." I panicked and whisked him away to the toilet. So long story short... I don't have to buy diapers anymore. I was really hesitant at first because he just barely turned two!!! But there was no turning back once he got those Batman undies on. He gets to pick out a fun new pair every day and he loves it! It hasn't all been fun and games... many, many accidents and i'm sure many more to come. Their little bladders just can't hold very much sometimes. But he is smart enough and has the desire to go on the potty (at least when he isn't busy playing with a really cool toy), so I figured that I should be ready too.

Years of hard work and months of interviews have finally paid off. Zach has just accepted a position with DreamWorks Animation. We will be moving to the Bay Area in August. We are soooo excited. DreamWorks has a studio in Redwood City, CA (25 miles south of San Francisco on the peninsula) which is where we will be for at least 6 months starting in September. Then he has the option of moving to the Glendale studio or staying in the bay area. I'm looking forward to a glimpse of the ocean!

In Zach's final semester at BYU he had to go back and take a few 100 level classes. He just finished up his 1st block Intro to Photography class. These are what he submitted for his final. Perfect time to take the class because it forced him to document this last month. We have hundreds of pictures, and Owen's barely a month old!!

That is how I would describe these last three weeks. It is so hard to believe that Owen is 3 weeks old today. There have been many sleepless nights and countless diaper changes. I never thought I could accumulate this much laundry. (I cannot imagine what it would be like with 4 or 5 kids... my washer and dryer would never rest!) Luckily I have had my wonderful mother here every step of the way. She has helped so much and Keller has enjoyed having the company.

Keller and his little bro are getting along great. Today when we got home from the store I set Owen on the ground in his car seat while I put a few things away and when I walked back in the room Keller was kissing Owen and giving him hugs. Keller kept repeating "kiss Owen" while Owen tried to suck on Keller's face!! I'm sure the hitting and punching stage between brothers will come shortly, but right now Keller is surprisingly gently.

So here is a super late post from Halloween. I didn't realize that I hadn't put these pictures up until I noticed them still on the camera. That is REALLY BAD!! Well, needless to say we had a wonderful Halloween. Keller really got the hang of it after a few attempts.

Mid afternoon one of the neighbor girls threw a Halloween bash outside. She wasn't very successful at rounding up and organizing 10 little kids, but at least they were all in their costumes...

Keller hated it! He was such a party-pooper!

But he quickly recovered!

Some of our neighbors were moving later that week and they got their trailer out for the kids to play in... they loved that thing! (kinda looks like a mug shot line up!)

After a long nap we set out for trick-or-treating. In Provo, Center St. becomes a big trick-or-treat neighborhood and the kids go from shop to shop and the owners hand out candy. It was different than Idaho, but it worked!

All in all, I would say Halloween 2010 was a BIG success. Keller got to practice his "please and thank yous" and ended up with tootsie rolls in his teeth! Yum!

Well here is Keller's first experience with a BIG OWIE. I will admit, I didn't even see this one happen, only the aftermath! Some how he managed to straddle a toy lawn mower backwards and then fall face first onto the cement drive way. I always thought it was instinctual to put your hands out to catch yourself... evidently I was wrong, very, very wrong!

This past July we went to the Oregon Coast. We always love going there. The cool breeze is a nice break from the HOT Utah summers, but by the end of the trip we are always very welcoming to the sun again! Here are a few pics from our trip. Keller turned 18 months Sept 19th and to celebrate we took some family pictures. His 18 months stats measured today were:

23.19lbs (15.9 percentile)

32.25in tall (49.94 percentile)

19.5in head circumference (90.54 percentile)

I think he is going to be VERY smart!

I'm probably going to get in trouble because Zach hasn't edited these yet, but I just couldn't wait!

This is the only way we could get a picture where he was actually looking... with him pinned between Zach's head and the wall!!

A little over a month ago, mid-August to be exact, we moved from our lovely 2 bedroom apartment that we had been enjoying for 2 years into a larger 3 bedroom townhouse. We really just needed some extra room for the next baby since Zach's computer equipment takes up nearly a whole room. So far we really like our new place. There are kids everywhere... which is perfect for Keller!!! As long as we are in Provo we plan on staying here (1.5 - 2 years). I would HATE to move again. I had forgotten how terrible it is.

Surprise... #2

Just in case you didn't know... we are expecting baby #2. We just found out today that we are having a BOY!! Zach and I are soooooo excited. Keller will finally have a playmate and Dad can take a rest??? Yeah right! He was moving all over the place during the ultrasound today... just like Keller. They will sure be a handful! I'm due Feb. 7, 2011, but Keller was 13 days late, so I am not holding my breath. :)

Me at 20 weeks. It is amazing how much sooner you show with your 2nd. Maybe I just didn't do anything to prevent that!!! Next time, right??? I'll keep telling myself that!

We are alive!

Although the looks of our pitiful blog from this summer might lead you to believe otherwise, we are still alive! We have had a fun filled, extremely busy summer!! The last thing I wrote about was our Hawaii trip, which seems like ages ago. Sorry to all of my eager followers!! I know you expect our life to be so much more interesting than this blog eludes to.

Well, as always after a long blog break, I'm going to take it slow as not to overwhelm you or me (mostly me) with 4 months of "stuff". When you end the summer and realize there are 265 pictures on the camera, it's tough to know where to start. So, hmmmmmm...... where to begin.

Way back in June, Keller took his first swimming lessons. He loved the water, and he and Zach got to go down the water slide on the last day of class. The weather was perfect except for one cold day when he shivered as he mumbled the words "all done... all done". He learned to blow bubbles, kick-kick-kick, and row-row-row! Going all the way under wasn't his favorite part of the lesson, but he obliged. Here are a few pics from the week. Daddy of course was our photographer!

I think swimming lessons are so important for children. My brothers and I started before we could even walk. It is so important that they feel comfortable in the water. Even though he didn't end the week swimming laps on his own, I know he learned some basic skills... which is all I could have hoped for and more.

Zach and I had such a blast in Hawaii this past week. Although we are exhausted and severely jet-lagged from the red eye flight landing at 7:30am, we are recovering quickly. We planned such a busy trip and managed to fit everything in that we wanted. Snorkeling (we went swimming with some turtles!), surfing (2 different days), Polynesian Cultural Center (tour, luau, and show), Magic of Polynesian show, shopping, and of course Cody and Tricia's wedding. The time flew by and I had forgotten how much fun Zach could be when Keller's not fighting for my attention. :) Here are a few pictures from our journey...

Our first meal in paradise... Cheeseburger in Paradise. By the way, we ate so much pineapple while we were there I thought I was going to burst. Pretty much every meal, especially breakfast!

On the first full day that we spent on the island we went surfing. We were the whitest two people on the beach. All the natives were skeptical of our abilities to surf and kept trying to sell us lessons. We assured them that we had done it before, but that we hadn't see the sun in a while. :)

This dessert place became our favorite. We were so addicted to Yogurt-Land. We went 3 times during our 7 day trip. It was right on Waikiki beach and hit the spot after a long day of adventures.

The PCC was awesome. We learned so much about all the different Polynesian Cultures. I would recommend going if you every visit Oahu. And the "Ha:The Breath of Life" show was awesome. I love how they call everyone Cousin. Our tour guide was Cousin Adam. He was a big Samoan guy. Surprisingly, about 90% of the employees at the PCC are BYU- Hawaii students. I had no idea.

All these performers made me wish I was Polynesian and could shake it like that!
This guy started a fire with two sticks right before our eyes. We were impressed!

And this guy climbed to the top of this palm tree with out any wires or netting at the bottom to catch him. WOW!!

And finally... the beautiful couple that is responsible for our trip to the island in the first place, Cody and Tricia. They had such a beautiful wedding on the beach near Turtle Bay.
She looked amazing.

Also, Cody and Tricia booked the same photographers that we used for our wedding (3 years ago). We were so happy to see Akiko and Ryan again. They are fantastic photographers... Bel R Photography.

After a long week we were sad to leave but eager to see Keller again. He had a great time with Grandma and Shayna and was spoiled rotten!! Isn't that what Grandma's are for?

By the way, we had such a blast that Zach is already planning a trip for next summer to Tahiti. We'll see Zach... we'll see.

To Do List (AKA TDL)

but the most important item of business...

9. hug and kiss Keller as much as he'll let me, because I am starting to realize how much I'm gonna miss him

We leave Wednesday morning and I don't feel ready, but I'll get there!

Two weeks from today we will be here...

Zach and I are heading to Oahu... a second honeymoon, just the two of us. Keller will be in good hands with Grandma and Shayna. And we will be enjoying the well deserved break... does that make me a bad mom??

I know, I know... I am really bad. We have been so busy with the end of the semester, family visiting, and work, that I have totally neglected our blog. When I realized how long it had been since I last posted, I was too overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. So here is a re-cap of the last little while.

Keller's 1st birthday: it was a pirate theme with tattoos and eye patches, but since the only thing that Keller LOVES is my cell phone that's exactly what he got...

Later that night after all the sugar, he realized what he had done.

Keller has become so active. He loves being outside. One afternoon he kept himself busy trying to get the mail for me. He must have seen me do it a few times and so he started begging for the keys. The next thing I know he is down the sidewalk towards the mailbox. Only a few more inches to grow!!

I cannot believe it... this past year has gone so fast. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful son that has blessed my life. He really is perfect.

Keller has really developed his own unique personality. I could watch him all day and not stop laughing. He loves noise! He is so loud I often cannot hear my cell phone ringing, or hear what Zach is trying to say, or even hear myself think! He started walking a few weeks ago, but he is still in the in-between stage. Sometimes he thinks it is easier to crawl and other times we catch him walking back and forth from the TV stand to the couch.

We are having a little party this Sunday. I'll post some pictures. He is such a lucky boy because he is going to have a few different birthdays. My family is coming on the 29th, then Jeri and Kasha (Zach's mom and sister) are coming a few days later. Then Jeri and Jeff are coming in April. WOW!! What a lucky boy to have so many people that adore him.

Keller woke up early Sat morning (2am) with a raging fever, cough, and runny nose. Luckily, he is now on the mend and he is going to live. I know this may sound crazy but I enjoyed those few days. Why you ask? Keller, who is usually so independent and will hardly let me catch him in a hug became the ultimate snuggler. All he wanted to do was be in my arms resting his head on my shoulder. I loved it. I didn't have to do anything but lounge on the couch with him and I had an excuse because he was sick and wouldn't let me do anything.

As of right now he is almost back to normal... pulling all of his books off of the bookshelf, throwing his toys all over the room, banging on the TV screen (don't tell Zach or I'll be in trouble). Yes my little boy is back to being mischievous. A bitter sweet ending to a weekend of sniffles.

P.S. To all the moms that have a baby that likes to snuggle ENJOY IT!! You are lucky. Maybe my next will be needy??

We spent Christmas back in Boise with our friends and family. We had such a blast. The time went by so fast, we didn't get everything in that we wanted to. Here is a brief re-cap of our time back home.

After Christmas we went to my parents' cabin in McCall, ID. We spent a few days up there sledding and going to the hot springs.... we loved it!

Finally, a long awaited introduction happened while we were in Boise. Keller was able to meet his Great-grandma and grandpa Bolt. They absolutely adored him. Keller is their first great-grand baby. It was wonderful to spend almost two weeks with them. I'm sure Keller won't remember, but it was special to me.

It has been a while since I posted last so I thought I would do a quick update.

We spent Thanksgiving with our neighbors, The Lights. Emily is a great cook so she was in charge of the turkey. It was fun to spend some time with friends. The best part was that they live next door, so we just had to stumble home at the end of the night with full bellies... YUM!

Keller got into her basket of toys for when kids come over. He didn't mind that all he found was a tiara and a necklace... he would make a pretty princess.

Mischievous...

If I had one word to describe Keller it would be mischievous. A few other descriptions include: spoiled, adorable, innocent, happy, playful, quick, smart, loving, adventurous, dare devil. Just to name a few.

This post has been long over due, sorry to you all. I have been so caught up with... well I don't really know where the time has gone. Keller is 8 months old already! His favorite word is DADA. I thought for sure it would be MAMA, but Zach has won this round. He gets into everything. We don't even try to make barricades anymore, he always get through them. And I know he knows what he is doing, because he looks back at me with a smirk on his face.

We are spending Thanksgiving here with some of our good friends. I will be sure to post pictures of the event. We are excited to go back to Boise for Christmas. It has been a while since Keller has seen his Grandparents (Bolts and Glynns). It is always sure to be an adventure when we return home. Zach, as always, is most excited about the sugar cookies.

I know this is late, but Keller turned 6 months old last Saturday the 19th. He is growing up so fast.

6 month measurements:

17.5 lbs (50%)

27in long (70.09%)

17.75in head circ. (83.8%) he must have a big brain in there!

These days i'm lucky to get a minute where I am not running around after him. A few of his accomplishments include: 5 teeth (almost 6), crawling (actual crawling, not just army scooting anymore), sleeping through the night (every mom's dream, from 8pm to 6am, eats, and then goes back to sleep until 8am), pulling himself up on anything and everything (bookshelves, footrests, chairs, our bed), we already had to put his crib mattress in the lowest position because he would pull himself up and greet us in the mornings leaning over the crib rail... yikes! I have been baby proofing as we go. As a new mom I never imagined the types of things that he could get in to. He is spoiled... yes spoiled. I have found out you can spoil a newborn! He is everything that we could have hoped for and more. He has such a little personality. Keller wants to do everything we do, eat everything we eat, and walk just the way we walk.

Keller got some new rings and Zach, as always, had more fun with them. Sometimes I think we buy the toys for Zach. Keller is rocking back and forth on hands and knees. He army crawls all over the house, because he cannot figure out how to move his legs and arms at the same time. It's coming though.

They actually pinch the nose and eyebrow quite a bit.

right here in Provo. So, my family decided to come visit us from Boise before school started back up. We spent a day at Lagoon, went to Park City for a day, and did lots of shopping... my kind of vacation. Keller certainly loved all of the attention. He was kissed so much I thought his face would fall off!! Keller sure is growing fast and it was nice for my family to get to spend some time with him as he grows up. They were amazed at how big he had gotten just since July. Here are a few pics from the week.

Oregon Coast 2009

Last week we went to the Oregon coast with Zach's family. We had such a fun time. Being new parents, Zach and I never thought twice about taking a 3month old on a 12 hour road trip. Luckily Keller is so mellow that he did just fine. You never know what to expect weather wise on the coast, but we got pretty lucky. We only had one really windy day. The best thing about the OC is that it is a vacation where you don't HAVE to do anything. We went to the beach, explored the caves and tide pools, played lots of games at night, and went shopping (my favorite part of course, the outlets are awesome, but there were especially good sales while we were there!)

All in all I would say that we had a fun family vacation... besides gaining 5 pounds from the cheese cake, cheese burgers, and ice cream. I guess it is back to real life now. After a few days of my cooking, those extra 5 pounds on Zach and I should melt right off!

We spent the end of June back in Boise and we had a blast. The Glynns have an above ground pool we fondly call "the intex". It was so nice on those HOT days to be able to jump into the water. It turns out that Keller loved the pool just as much as his parents! He swam 3 or 4 of the days that we were there. Zach even took him under water a few times... which of course freaked me out at first. Luckily we had an expert there. Levi's girlfriend Holly used to teach the "Mommy and Me" classes at the YMCA. Keller had such a fun time. He was kicking and splashing and loved every minute of it. I think we may have the next Michael Phelps on our hands. Check out some of the highlights.

3 months old

It's hard to believe that 3 months have gone by since Keller came into this world. I would be lying if I didn't admit that it was quite an adjustment. I know some new moms may think I am crazy, but these last few months have been absolutely wonderful. Sure, I have to do laundry every day now, sometimes I even change outfits 3 times a day because he likes to shoot poop out of his diaper. I definitely get less sleep. But he truly is the perfect baby! We have been so lucky. Keller has discovered his voice box so now he likes to yell and make odd noises at the top of his lungs... he thinks it is funny! He is growing fast. He's around 15 lbs and 28 inches long. We are going back to Idaho to visit the family next week. They can't wait to see him again. He has changed so much just in the short time since we saw them last. Happy 3 months Keller! We love you!

Today is my birthday and this morning I woke up to the most wonderful present a new mom could ask for. Last night Keller slept through the whole night. He slept from 10:45pm-6:45am. WOW! Before last night, the longest he had gone was a 6 1/2 hour stretch. Waking up and seeing 6:45 on the clock this morning really set the day off right. I am so proud of him... but at the same time I realize that he is growing up way too fast!! We love you Keller! Now be a good boy and do that every night!

I know this is a little late, but Keller had his baby blessing on May 3rd. Zach's parents and sister came from Boise for the event. We had such a fun weekend. We stuffed our guts with all-you-can eat french toast for breakfast on Saturday. And then filled up on Chinese food that night. I guess it is safe to say that I still eat like I am pregnant. Zach's dad jokes that I am "eating for two" but in reality I am because I am feeding Keller too... right??? Anyways, Keller did really well for the blessing, except for the fact that he was farting the whole time they were holding him in the circle.

I cannot believe that Keller will be 1 month old this Sunday! He is an absolute joy! Zach and I have so much fun with him. Everyday is a new adventure. He is such a happy baby. Here is a video of Keller smiling at mommy.

We had a wonderful Easter. We took Keller to church for the first time. And here is our first family photo...

For Christmas, we bought a digital SLR camera and it was the best investment. We take millions of pictures of Keller all the time. It is amazing how he changes from day to day. Sometimes I get sad when I think about it... he is growing so fast!

This was a very special gift from his Aunt Shayna. She made him a whole set of tie-dye onsies. He loves them... well I love them, he just spits up on them!

He got in!!!! As most of you know, Zach and I moved down to Provo so that he could study animation at BYU. Well I am happy to announce that Zach has been excepted to the program! I have been such a worry wart because we essentially packed up all of our things and moved down here just hoping and crossing our fingers that he would get in. I think that my worries were valid. After all, they had around 150 applicants, and only accepted 15-18 students. BYU's school of Animation is one of the top 3 animation schools in the WORLD. Studios such as Pixar, Dreamworks, Disney, and Sony recruit from BYU and absolutely love the talented students that BYU produces. We are officially one step closer!! I am so proud of Zach. He truly is an amazing artist and more importantly extremely motivated. More so than any person I know! Congrats Zach, I love you! http://animation.byu.edu/

We celebrated Zach's birthday yesterday, April 5. Keller and his dad had a great time opening the presents. Actually, Keller didn't really know what was going on! Zach is so spoiled. His parents, sister, and my parents sent him some great gifts from Idaho. They really showed me up!

By the way, here is a picture of Keller's first outing. We went to Zach's mission reunion last Friday night. He was quite the hit... a real ladies man!

about my labor

I just thought I would make a quick post about my labor experience. Looking back it is actually comical! So Zach's mom came into town on Friday the 13th of March to help with the baby, even though he wasn't here yet. I thought that there was no way I would actually go 2 weeks over. But I guess I was wrong. Jeri and I walked for miles everyday, trying to get him to come. People would stare because I was carrying him so low that he looked like he was going to fall right out. We actually got a few comments about my appearance. I had a few false alarms, none that actually amounted to anything, but I just thought he would never come.
On Thursday the 18th, we were eating dinner and I kinda had this weird "stomach" pain. I thought it was gas so I blew it off. We decided to go see the movie Valkyrie (no sense in waiting home for the baby to come). By the time we got to the movie, the "gas" was starting to get worse. I stumbled into the movie. Zach and Jeri could tell that something was different. My labor started around 7:45pm, that's when the movie began. My contractions got progressively stronger in the movie, but I didn't want to make them leave so I just tried to relax through them. Thanks to the HypnoBabies class that we took, I was able to do very well. The movies seemed like 30 minutes.
After the movie, Zach looked at me and said "I better pull the car around, you probably shouldn't walk." On the way home I called my midwife and said "I hope you aren't busy tonight." I had actually just had an appointment with her that morning and she thought that I probably still had a little while. We went home and Zach started timing them. They were about 3 minutes apart and lasting around 75 seconds. We gathered up our things and headed to the birthing center in Orem. We arrived just before 11pm. My midwife checked me when we arrived and I was at 7.5 centimeters. I jumped in the jacuzzi tub (which I would highly recommend to anyone). After a little while in the tub I felt like I needed to push... And then Keller was born at 2:20am on March 19th. Zach had brought the video camera and digital camera thinking that we would have plenty of time to record some footage. We just didn't have any time until the next morning. We were shocked that everything happened so fast. I guess I will know for the future what labor feels like, and I won't head out to the movies for a nice relaxing evening!
Another funny note, My midwife had 5 births in a 24hr period. I was on the tail end of the births. All of the mom's were late... weird. And we decided to all come at the same time. Maybe something in the air?? My midwife was amazing and we had a wonderful experience. I couldn't have done it without the love of my life, Zach. He is the strongest man I know. And he is making a terrific dad!!

I am officially "late"... the hours are ticking by. Not really, but it sure does seem like it sometimes. Zach and I went shopping on Saturday, my official "due date". I just knew that he wasn't coming, so I had to have some meaningless tangible item to fill the void. :) Shopping for clothing really isn't appealing for me right now. The hardest thing about shopping while you are 40wks pregnant is that you know you shouldn't buy maternity clothes because it will be over soon, but at the same time, I couldn't remember what size I would normally buy if I didn't look like I swallowed a huge basketball. I found a few cute dresses and I had to have Zach hold them up to my back to see if they would be long enough once I wasn't carrying the little one anymore. I had some success... Zach calls the dresses "motivators". Isn't he so sensitive... not!
So, I'm not getting too down on myself because my mom was always 2 weeks late with me and my brothers. In fact, the average length of pregnancy for a first time mom is 41 weeks, 1 day. I'm sure that is changing now-a-days with the increase in scheduled inductions or c-sections. There really is no exact science I guess (if you aren't planning an induction), which makes me feel a little bit better. I still feel great. We are just excited to meet the little guy. Not to mention, our families are going crazy back in Idaho. Every time Zach or I call we just disappoint. :)

So this morning we went to the greatest place on earth for all you can eat french toast. The first plate was so big, nobody even went back for seconds.

We were saying one last goodbye to Ben and Jessica before they move to Washington. Ben just recently accepted a job position with Boeing... go Ben!! He's going to be doing something nerdy with airplanes. Right Jessica? Anyways, we have really enjoyed spending so much time with them since we moved down here, but they have been here long enough and it is time to move on. As everyone hopes to do after BYU and Provo.

Really late Christmas post

Hi everyone. So this is a really late post, but I guess it is better late than never. Zach and I have been going non-stop since we came back from Boise. I have been picking up a few extra shifts at work and Zach has started another semester at BYU. So as you can imagine, we are very busy. So here is a quick recap of our Christmas adventure.

Every year for Christmas, Zach and I pick one big gift that we would both really like and get it for 'us'. This year we decided to get a digital SLR camera. He likes the idea of a new toy to play with and I like the end product... pictures. I thought we would be able to share, but I guess I was wrong. :)

So we took this new camera to Boise for Christmas and got a lot of great pictures. I have just picked a few to share.

My mom also threw a baby shower for me while we were back home. Here are two really special gifts from my Grandparents. My Grandpa graduated from Annapolis and was a captain in the Navy. And then my Grandma gave me my dad's baby quilt made by his Great-Grandma. So now our little boy will have a crib quilt made by his great, great, great-grandma... WOW!

Isn't it strange how time goes by so quickly when you are having so much fun. Zach and I are loving it here in Provo. There is never a dull moment, except for the two evenings a week that I have to work... but even that is exciting. Even though we love it here, we are so excited to visit home for Christmas. We even have a list of all the things we want to do in Boise. The only thing Zach added to the list was "eat sugar cookies". I guess he is deprived here in Utah.

I wanted to give a special congratulations to two of our very best friends here in Provo, Ben and Jessica. They just found out that they are having a little baby girl. She is going to be such a beauty. Secretly I am planning the marriage of our first borns. But only time will tell. :)

Our Thanksgiving weekend

We had such a great Thanksgiving with the Rigby's and the Chavez's. We spent Thanksgiving afternoon in Provo where we had a wonderful feast. Then we spent the weekend in Park City. It was our first time in Park City and we had a blast. We ate way too much junk food, and by the end of the weekend I was begging for anything BUT a turkey sandwich.

After Halloween update

I know it is a little while after Halloween, but I wanted to give everyone an after Halloween update from our household. On Halloween day, Zach received a package from his Dad in Boise. Little did he know that this package would hold something so wonderful, so magnificent, that it would literally take over. For the past few weeks, I have struggled with this thing to no avail. He simple cannot take it off!

Twilight fiasco...

So, I have officially been scolded for not updating our blog frequently enough. I am turning over a new leaf, and promise to post more often. It just seems a little overwhelming when I have so many things to post, and then I let too many days go by without posting. I will do better!!

This last Saturday, Britni, Jessica, and I went and saw Twilight. It was so fun. We had a great girls afternoon/evening filled with a movie, dinner, and of course, ice cream. Since I forgot my camera, I stole a picture from Brit's blog to add to the post... Thanks Britni!

All I can say is that the movie was fantastic. And I don't understand why Zach can't be a vampire. He has better fangs than Edward anyways!

Pumpkin carvin'

Last Saturday we had the Chavez's over for dinner and some good ol' fashion pumpkin carving. Since I don't have an ounce of creativity or artistic ability, Zach designed and carved our whole pumpkin, occasionally asking me for input to keep me involved. Ben and Jessica each had a pumpkin and they turned out really well. There was one minor mishap. Jess went out on a limb and decided to carve a spider into her pumpkin instead of the traditional scary face... well, it was looking great until the last cut, when the entire spider feel into the pumpkin. Luckily I had the remedy, toothpicks! They can fix anything. I'll have to update you later about how the spider is holding up. It was a fun night. We even made it to the BYU film festival later. I'm sad to report that it wasn't as good as we had hoped, or as good as past years (so we hear).

As I said in my first post, I became a Registered Nurse as of October 1st. After a little bit of fun time with Zach, and a few trips later, I thought it was time that I settled down and looked for some work. Well I have good news to report. I got hired on at a Rehab facility a few minutes from where we live. Zach and I are so excited. They have a really low turn-over rate (which is always a good question to ask in the interview process). And I'm even making more than I would working at the local hospital. I start tomorrow... kind of soon, I would have liked a little more time to play, but that is how life goes I guess. I'm only working part-time, which will leave plenty of time for life, and blogging. :) That's all for now.

Yesterday we received a package from Zach's mom in Boise. It made my week, maybe even my month. The box was filled with little boy clothes... and tons of it. Our little boy is going to be the best dressed in town. I have more onesies then I know what to do with. And of course, I played with them all afternoon. Then today I went and bought a few more things. I really think it is a sickness that we have! But hey, we are having fun while we are shopping and that is all that matters, right? Zach likes most of the stuff... he doesn't like the idea of his boy being a pansy, so the "cutesie" stuff I have to show him very last and then run and hide it!

Vegas Baby!!!

This year for the Glynn's annual October trip we went to Las Vegas. It was such a blast and we were nearly dead from exhaustion when we got back to the hotel each night. We saw all the major sights... the Bellagio water show, the Venetian boats, all the lights our eyes could handle, and of course the smutty cards that the mexicans flip on their wrists. Levi couldn't get enough of it!!

Our last day was just as great as the first two, but we were so tired we could barely stand. We averaged around 10 miles of walking per day. The baby really enjoyed that!

Introductions...

I always said that I wanted to have a blog one day. I guess today is that day. Perhaps I should start by telling everyone a little bit about us. Zach and I currently live in Provo, Utah and are now officially just another set of Mormons. We love it here. The people are great and the scenery is even better! Our little apartment is a eye-sore from the outside, but everyone is pleasantly surprised when they enter. We moved to Provo after I graduated from Boise State University so that Zach could finish at BYU. He loves BYU and finds it a bit more challenging than BSU (that is because he actually has so DO something at BYU). As of October 1st, I am officially an RN. Now the pressure is on to find a job and become the sugar mama that Zach has always wanted.

Zach and I were married March 2007 in the Laie, Hawaii LDS Temple. The last year and a half have been the most wonderful years of my life. I never knew how happy I could be until I fell in love with Zach. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I KNOW that I am the best thing that has every happened to him... his mom tells me all the time! We have know each other for over 7 years and each year just keeps getting better.

We are expecting our first child in March and we just found out that it is a BOY!! We are so excited. Sometimes it is hard to believe that we could ever be parents, but I know that Zach is going to be the best father in the world, even if he is only 23. I'm even gonna get him a "#1 DAD" hat, because I know he will be that good. Our little guy is quite the wiggler... he was jumping all over the place during the ultrasound. From the looks of the ultrasound pictures, there is no doubt that he is a boy, and quite a boy at that!!!

There is so much more to say, but I cannot put it all in one post. I have a lot of back-tracking to do so that our life can be properly portrayed. Stay tuned...
